Dying hair extensions - possible?

i've had brown hair for a while now, and i feel it's time to dye it black. my extensions are 12", the same shade as my hair.. i'm not sure what brand they are, as i got them from a friend, but i know that they were purchased at sally beauty supply.

so, is it possible for me to dye these extensions black? or will i have to buy all new ones? and if i can dye them, is there anything special i should know about it? considering i'm going all black i really need them to turn out perfectly, or they would look silly.

here's a picture for reference of my current hair color:

if the extensions are made of real hair, then yes, they can be dyed. just like you would dye normal hair.

if your not sure if it is hair or synthetic, pull a strand out and burn an end. if it melts (like plastic) then it is synthetic and cannot be dyed.

If the extensions are real hair then you can dye them just as you would your real hair! But if their fake hair you can't.

there is no real answer to this question unless you tell us whether or not they're human or synthetic hair.

Remember that if you dye it black, it's a dark colour that can stay in your hair for a while. So it's hard to remove. I'm pretty sure you have to take out your hair extensions first. Dye your hair black or whatever you want, and then get a new set of matching hair extensions.

it depends if the extentions are made of real hair or synthentic

if it is really hair then yes you can

synthetic --%26gt; dont think so

go to your hairdresser and ask them, then see if you can schedule for them to do it

GOODLUCK!!!
